As a 501 C (3) non-profit corporation, the Council operates under a Board of Directors comprised of elected officials and business leaders in the community.  The Directors oversee the activities of the Council and its staff.

Bill Colston, Jr. graduated from Riviera Kaufer's High School in Riviera, Texas in 1970. He attended Texas A&I University Kingsville and many other techinical schools for Riviera Telephone Company, Inc (RTC). The RTC serves approximately 250 miles of fiber optic cable. In 1982, Mr. Colston became the General Manager of RTC. In 1995 Bill becmae assumed the titel of President and General Manager of Riviera Telephone Company, INC. and serves in that capacity at this time.

 

Mr. Colston has been very active in community activities most of his life. He has been a volunteer with Riviera Volunteer Fire Department since 1969 and was a volunteer paramedic from 1983-201. Mr. Colston currently serves on the board of directors for Riviera Telephone Company, Inc., Texas Telephone Association, Kingsville EDC, Kleberg FIrst National Bank, Christus Sphon FoundationBoard an Kleberg-Kenedy Cuonty Junior Livestock Show Association Board. Mr. Colston served from 1988-19998 as a member of the board of trustees for Riviera ISD. He also served as a member of the board of trustees for the Texas Statewide Telephone Cooperative, INC. from 1998-2001.

Lynn Yaklin was born and raised in Kingsville. She attended local public schools and graduated from Texas A&M University in 1991 with a bachelor of arts degree.  Yaklin spent the past 17 years in the local business community in various capacities with a primary focus on marketing and media relations. The early years of her professional career were spent with Cox Communications briefly as an advertising sales agent and eventually as a regional sales manager. Yaklin left Cox Communications in 2001 to start her own small business, Yaklin Marketing.  This small marketing company places media buys and produces creative media for a several local businesses.  In 2004, she became a licensed real estate agent and began selling locally with Coldwell Banker Homestead Properties, Inc. Yaklin has been the top producing agent at the #1 real estate office in town for the past two consecutive years.  Lynn is married to Dennis Yaklin, and has three children:  Colton (21), Jacob (16), and Madison (14).  She spends many hours volunteering in this community and is or has been a member of the following organizations in various roles and capacities:   

 

Kingsville EDC, Kingsville Chamber of Commerce, Javelina Club, Brahma Booster Club, KISD's School Health Advisory Council, Kingsville Area Assoc REALTORS, Cactus Bowl, TAMUK Management & Marketing Advisory Council, TAMUK President's Legacy Ball Committee, Sunrise Rotary of Kingville 

A graduate of St. Mary’s University in San Antonio, Texas, Dick Messbarger has served as Executive Director of the Kingsville EDC since 1988. Prior to assuming his current position, he was the manager of the Kingsville Chamber of Commerce. He was general manager of the Radio Stations KINE-AM and KPUP-FM in the 1980's and was managing editor of the Kingsville Record in the 1970's.
